4 Must Have WordPress Plugins To Help You Rank And Convert!

Posted By on March 31st, 2019 in Search Engine Optimisation

I am pretty sure you’ve heard of WordPress, so I won’t go into that – but what may surprise you is that According to W3techs, WordPress has over 60% of the CMS market share! That is incredible. This statistic hasn’t come about for no reason, WordPress makes it incredibly easy for you to optimise your site for SEO and conversions. Here are 4 plugins that I believe will shoot you up the rankings and convert more traffic!

1. WP Super Cache

The is the most powerful caching plugin, it covers everything from the CSS and JS to GZIP. Simple tick and submit options make it super user-friendly and means you do not need to write to your .htaccess file or your theme files, it is all done for you!

2. Smush (Pro if possible)

Most of the time you don’t realise that you are using super heavy images on your site which can take a long time to load. Smush compresses your images without losing quality, generally allowing for better load times. I say “generally” because there are other factors involved with your site load – but this plugin is a good one to have at hand!

3. OptinMonster

If you are driving a fair amount of traffic to your site and not seeing conversion rates increasing over time then this is a great plugin/tool to use. Although set up is on the OptinMonster site, the plugin pulls exit intent forms and activates them on your site – quick and easy. Exit intent forms can help you to generate more leads. We have seen our leads increase by 20% whilst using this plugin. You can also send leads straight into your email database, which is helpful!

4. Yoast SEO

I don’t think that Yoast needs much of an introduction – write your meta, change your permalinks, update your robots.txt, the list goes on. I generally only use Yoast for basic things such as meta rewrites and content quality checks, but even then, depending on your theme, the plugin may not be able to read your content properly. On the whole, if you are looking for a quick SEO overview and intuitive interface, this is your tool!

There are far more plugins that are helpful, but the above are my go-to when looking at any new WordPress site that needs optimisation.

Content remains the basis of everything though – without something that is compelling to read, or answers a query, no plugin will help you to rank or convert! Find out more about content for SEO.
